 Matthew 10:28.

JESUS SAID IN MATTHEW 10:28

28. And fear not them who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul; but rather fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Someday, each and every unsaved person will stand all alone before God. Individuality will never mean as much in the here and now as it will mean when the lost stand all alone before God.

In this life we have friends, family, colleagues, and cohorts. Here, most of us do not know what it is like to be alone. I mean really alone! We belong to groups of all shapes, forms, fashions, and kinds. Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, 4-H, PTA, Unions, Sport teams, Lions Club, Rotary Club, clubs of all kinds.

There are leagues, lodges, churches, political parties, youth groups, grade schools, middle schools, high schools, colleges and universities, and the list goes on. Each of us is a part of something that someone else is also a part of.

Most people will not do anything unless it involves others: fishing, swimming, hunting, running, walking, dining out, playing ball, band, even just riding around.

We call it being with a crowd. We consider that to be fun, and it is. We want to be part of the crowd, and we want the crowd to accept us. We live together, we say I am from Louisville. I am from Nashville. I am from Chicago. We all are part of a town, city, county, or neighborhood.

We say things like: He lives on my street, or she goes to my school. We believe that there is strength in numbers, and there is here in this life but before God one day, someday, you will be all alone!

Many of you wouldn't want to walk down a city street at night, you would be afraid and rightly so, and yet most people never realize that before God they will stand all alone.

The average person does not enjoy being singled out, or put on the spot, in any way, but that is just exactly what is going to happen to you, if, you ignore the invitation of Jesus and die lost.

Phillipians 2:9-11.

9. Wherefore, God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name,

10. That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth,

11. And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God, the Father.

The day is coming, the bible declares, when every man, lost and saved alike, will confess Christ is Lord to the glory of God, however, for the overwhelming majority it will be to late. They will be lost, and lost forever.

Today, you may live your life without regret. Today, you may be sorry for nothing that you have done. The sins that you have committed, lies that you have told and lies that you have lived, secret sins, hidden sins, sins that you have forgotten all about.

Some of you, have laughed about what Gods word says about sins. Adultery, Fornication, Infidelity, the breaking of the Marriage Vows, all kinds of sin. You have heard and laughed, you live as if you have not a care in this world, and maybe you don't. But, the day is coming, when you will not be in this world and you won't laugh then!

You will go directly to Hell, as shocking as that may sound, as difficult to believe as that may be, that is the message found on the pages of God's word. Hell is the place where lost men go when they die, and they won't get out until what the Bible calls "The Judgment of the White Throne." And then, only for a moment, to see the record of their life passed before them, and to hear Jesus speak those solemn and final words. "Depart from me, I never knew you."

Most people are frightened of something. Natural disasters, fire, flood, storms, earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, volcanoes, even tidal waves, dangers from above, dangers from beneath, dangers all around.

Robbers, gangs, murderers, rapists, drug addicts, wicked men, evil men, let me ask you something, what are you afraid of? What scares you? Or do you mean to tell me that you are afraid of nothing.

How about sickness, disease, accident, illness, x-rays, blood tests, listen again to what Jesus said in Matthew 10: 28.

28. Fear not them who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul; but rather fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

The greatest fear of man should be to die lost. More than any other thing we should fear that, for time is but a moment and we are here for just a little while. Death and eternity are fast approaching us all. Unsaved, sins unforgiven, is the worst epitaph for or of any man. Some of you who are here today are unprepared to die, and yet death could come at any time. You know that, don't you?

Hear me, God has made the way of salvation plain Romans 10:9, John 1:12, John 3:16, Isaiah 1:18, Isaiah 55:6-7.

Romans 10:9.

09. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

John 1:12.

12. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the [children] of God, even to them that believe on his name;

John 3:16.

16. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Isaiah 1:18.

18. Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

Isaiah 55:6-7.

06. Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near;

07. Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts, and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God; for he will abundantly pardon.

Did you know that the child of God is never alone? God is always with him or her, every day, every hour, every minute. God has said "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee" {Hebrews 13:5}.

That is what David meant when he said "Yea, thou I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for thou art with me. Thy rod, and thy staff, they comfort me" {Psalm 23}.

You can place faith in Christ. You can trust him, depend on him, rely upon him. He will forgive and he will save. He died for you, paid for all of your sins on the cross, then three days and three nights later he arose. He is alive today and he can live in your heart by faith.

All alone before God! What a sobering thought, what a terrible tragedy, but it doesn't have to be that way. You, at least for this present time, have a choice.

Ephesians 2:8-9.

08. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God-

09. Not of works, lest any man should boast.

It is our prayer that your choice will be Faith in Christ.

THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH
